Prompt Systems

What is a prompt harness?

A prompt harness is a structured prompt system that gives AI a role, context, rules, process, output format, and review standard.

Short answer: It is stronger than a one-off prompt because it controls how the AI approaches the task, not just what task it receives.

Why it matters

One-off prompts are easy to write but inconsistent. A harness makes good results more repeatable.

How Aaron uses it

Aaron uses prompt harnesses for writing, planning, product work, agent handoffs, coding workflows, and structured review passes.

Simple example

Instead of “fix this,” a harness says who the AI is, what good looks like, what constraints matter, what order to work in, and how to present the result.
